The Brooks Glycerin Max in white/pink/black—lightweight, cushioned, and built for pavement comfort.
Why I Wanted to Try These
I run now and then—mostly to move differently from mountain biking. I wanted a road-running shoe that felt better on pavement and had enough cushion to maybe make running feel easier. When I saw the Brooks Glycerin Max in white with a hot pink sole and black logo, I was sold on both the look and the promise of comfort.
First Impressions
Out of the box, they were surprisingly light. The cushion stood out right away—plush but not bulky. They looked good and felt built for comfort.
What Stands Out
Cushioning That Feels Right
The Glycerin Max uses what Brooks calls DNA LOFT v3 cushioning—basically, nitrogen-infused foam. All you need to know: it’s soft without being squishy. It absorbs impact without killing your stride.
Stability Without Bulk
I wouldn’t call this a stability shoe, but it’s supportive. My foot feels guided, not controlled. I like that the midsole feels balanced underfoot, even on uneven pavement or sloped sidewalks.
Breathable Upper
Mesh that actually breathes. I’ve run in 80°F weather, and these didn’t overheat or get soggy with sweat.
Where I Tested Them
I wore them mostly on the road—running paths, sidewalks, and neighborhood loops. I also wore them on travel days when I was on my feet for hours. No blisters, no aches, just solid comfort. But I also love to wear these casually—they’re so comfortable and look great, too. I like the hot pink sole.
I’ve worn these to the gym, and they’re not great for things like deadlifts. There is too much cushion for that. These are true running shoes—not all-purpose trainers.
What I Like
My pair of Brooks Glycerin Max—washed a dozen times in Tide and still looking fresh.
Comfortable straight out of the box
Great shock absorption
Lightweight for how cushioned it is
No rubbing or break-in time
Runs true to size
They wash well and maintain their original quality.
What I Don’t Like
Higher price point, but it feels earned
Final Take
If you want a road-running shoe that makes running feel better, the Brooks Glycerin Max hits the sweet spot. It’s soft, stable, and holds up to everyday miles. I love mine. They bring the joy of running back to me.
